EARLY BIRD OUTFITTING

My name is Brandon Payne and I’ve been guiding in the Rockies for about a decade and a half. Having cut my teeth on the rivers of Alaska, where catching fish was usually as simple as finding one and getting a fly near it, I came to Montana with a fairly naive understanding of trout fishing. Over the past 20+ years, I’ve been learning continuously and don’t see an end in sight. With that learning has evolved my passion for teaching. Teaching the techniques of fly fishing, but also the value of a day spent on the water. That’s really how I want people to think of a day on the water with Early Bird Outfitting. As part of a learning experience that, whether it lasts a day or a lifetime, enriches their appreciation of the outdoors. If you’re a total rookie with an interest in the sport, a seasoned angler looking to tighten up those loops, a birder who would rather catch more photos than fish, or anything in-between, let’s go fishing together.
